The Story of Miss Moppet is one of Beatrix Potter’s shortest and simplest tales, written for very young children. It follows a mischievous kitten, Miss Moppet, who tries to catch a mouse that is determined not to be caught. The story first appeared in 1906 as a folding panorama in a wallet, which booksellers disliked, and it was reissued in 1916 in the familiar small book format. This copy is in that small format, bound in grey paper-covered boards with green lettering and a circular colour illustration of Miss Moppet and the mouse on the front. The boards show some darkening and light wear. It is an early Warne edition of a Potter title and will appeal to collectors of vintage children’s books.
